Player Animation Mod for Minecraft PE: Honest Answers for Mobile Players

Pocket Edition is Bedrock on mobile. Here is what that means for Java-only libraries like this one.

Searches for Player Animation mod Minecraft PE are common, especially from players who saw animation videos recorded on Java Edition. Here is what you need to know before downloading anything on a phone or tablet.

Minecraft PE is Bedrock Edition

"Pocket Edition" is the old name for Minecraft on mobile devices. Today the mobile game is part of Bedrock Edition, the same version that runs on consoles and the Windows Bedrock app. It does not support Java mod loaders.

Player Animation Mod is a Java Edition library that runs through Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt. Because of that, there is no PE or mobile version of it.

Watch out for fake "PE ports"

Some websites offer files that claim to be a mobile version of a Java-only mod. Since the original project does not publish one, those files are not the same software. They may simply be unrelated add-ons, and some may be unsafe.

  • Check whether the original project lists Bedrock or mobile support. This one does not.
  • Avoid apps or APKs that claim to install Java mods into PE.
  • Do not enter account details on unknown download sites.

What mobile players can do

Use Bedrock add-ons

Bedrock add-ons can include custom animations made with Bedrock's own tools and formats. They install by opening .mcpack or .mcaddon files on your device.

Play Java Edition on a computer
